Toyota RAV4 2000
Toyota RAV4 2000 The first generation of the RAV came out in 1996. It had a lot of parts from the Corolla and Camry. It had a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine with 120 hp and either front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive.
In 1998, the front and back ends of the
RAV4 were changed a little, and in some markets, a two-door model with a soft top was added. The second generation of the RAV4 came out in time for the 2001 model year. It had a more powerful 2.0-liter engine with 148 horsepower.
For the 2004 model year, the car got a facelift that mostly consisted of new bumpers. The 2.0-liter engine was replaced with a 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine with 161 hp. You can now choose between a 4-cylinder engine or a V-6 engine.
During that generation, the RAV got a few updates to its look. The only major change from the previous generation was the switch from a 2.5-liter 6-cylinder engine to a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine.
One useful option was the sport package, which replaced the side-hinged rear hatch door with a top-hinged door that didn't have a spare tire on the back. This would be common again in the future. The RAV4 became a safety star again. In tests done by the IIHS, the
RAV4 got "Good" scores in every category. It also got a Top Safety Pick award because it has automatic emergency braking and can have LED headlights as an option.
