Khushi Motors has been supplying verified, honestly priced vehicles to buyers across the region since 2009. In Uganda, that means understanding the local market, the import process, and what it actually takes to deliver on a promise made to a buyer who cannot see the car before it arrives.

Khushi Motors in Uganda: Physical Presence, Real Accountability
Uganda's vehicle market is one of the most active in the region. Dar es Salaam moves a significant volume of imports every month, buyers across Arusha, Dodoma, Mwanza, and Zanzibar have access to more options than ever, and the competition between dealers has never been stronger. In that environment, the question that matters is not who has the most listings. It is who delivers what they promise.
Khushi Motors entered the Uganda market because buyers here deserve the same standard of transparency, documentation, and honest dealing that we have built our reputation on since 2009. We have a physical presence in Uganda through our showroom, and we serve Uganda buyers with the same documented process that has earned us external recognition from independent institutions in the automotive industry.
This page gives you a clear picture of who we are, how we operate in Uganda specifically, and what you can expect from the first conversation to the moment your vehicle clears TRA and is ready to drive.
Est. 2009
Nearly two decades of automotive experience. Uganda is not a new market for us.

Uganda-Ready Process
TRA clearance documentation, Dar es Salaam port logistics, and Certificate of Roadworthiness compliance handled.
We Understand What a Uganda Buyer Is Actually Dealing With
Buying a vehicle in Uganda is not a simple transaction. The import process through Dar es Salaam port involves Uganda Revenue Authority clearance, duty calculation based on customs value, vehicle age restrictions, and a Certificate of Roadworthiness inspection before the vehicle can be legally registered. A buyer who is not familiar with each of those stages can find themselves surprised by costs or delays they were never told to expect.
Khushi Motors does not leave Uganda buyers to figure this out alone. Before you confirm any vehicle, we walk you through the full landed cost picture: the vehicle price, shipping from Japan, TRA duty applicable to your specific vehicle’s year and engine size, and any port handling that applies at Dar es Salaam. The figure we quote before you commit is the figure the process should cost. That is not a common standard in this market. It is the Khushi Motors standard.
Uganda's road conditions also shape what makes a good vehicle here. The highway network between Dar es Salaam and Arusha demands reliable performance. Routes through the interior require ground clearance and mechanical robustness that lighter vehicles do not always deliver. When our team advises on vehicle selection for a Uganda buyer, those road realities are part of the conversation.

"Knowing what a vehicle will actually cost to land in Uganda is not a bonus. It is the minimum any serious dealer owes a buyer before money changes hands."
The Standard We Apply to Every Vehicle We Supply
Every vehicle that Khushi Motors offers to a Uganda buyer has been through a multi-point inspection before it is presented. That inspection begins in Japan, where certified third-party graders assess the vehicle independently of any seller. Body condition, mechanical state, interior, mileage, and modification or repair history are all documented in a standardised report that exists before any buyer sees the listing.
The grading system used across Japan’s auction network is consistent and credible precisely because the inspector who produces it has no connection to the outcome of the sale. Their job is to find problems, not to hide them. A grade 4 vehicle and above in that system means excellent condition. When Khushi Motors presents a vehicle at grade 4, that assessment was made by someone whose professional responsibility was accuracy, not salesmanship.
That report is shared with you before you pay anything. The vehicle that arrives at Dar es Salaam port carries the same chassis number as the report you reviewed. The condition you were shown is the condition of the car that clears customs. This is the foundation of how we operate.
Independent Grading
Every vehicle graded by certified third-party inspectors in Japan. No seller influence on the report. No Khushi Motors influence either.
Full Report Shared
The complete inspection report is provided to you before any commitment. Body diagram, condition marks, mileage, interior rating, and notes all included.
Multi-Point Inspection
Assessment covers body panels, mechanical systems, interior condition, mileage verification, and any recorded damage or modification history.
No Middlemen
Khushi Motors sources directly from Japan’s auction network. Every additional hand in a supply chain is an additional opportunity for misrepresentation.
TRA Documentation Ready
Export documentation is prepared to meet TRA clearance requirements. Incomplete paperwork is one of the most common sources of delay and cost at Dar es Salaam port. We do not leave that to chance.
Recognition Earned Over 16 Years. Not Purchased
There are many ways a company can appear credible. Some buy their way into industry directories. Some manufacture recognition through self-issued awards. The recognition Khushi Motors holds was earned by organisations that assess real performance and real buyer outcomes.
The KNCCI Excellence Recognition came from the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry in 2023. The NCBA Affiliate Top Used Car Dealer Recognition came from a major financial institution in 2022 that understands this market because it finances buyers in it. The IAUC International Automobile Certification was issued in January 2026 by an international automotive standards body. And the five-time Best Car Dealership Award reflects consistent buyer satisfaction across many years and many thousands of transactions, not a single good year followed by a quiet return to ordinary practice.
For a buyer in Uganda who has never bought from Khushi Motors before, these recognitions matter because they represent independent parties who looked at how this company operates and chose to associate their name with it. That is a different kind of reassurance from reading what a dealer says about itself.

"16 years in this business means 16 years of buyers who trusted a company with a significant financial decision. The ones who were let down do not come back. Our return rate says everything about the ones who were not."

Earned Trust
Why Khushi Motors: 16 Years of Earned Trust in Uganda
There are many places in Uganda to buy a car. Finding one that has been operating for 16 years, recognized repeatedly by independent bodies for the quality of its service, and still growing its presence is a different matter entirely.
Khushi Motors has been in this market since 2009. In that time we have received recognitions from external bodies assessing real performance — not awards we gave ourselves.
We have also been recognized five times as Uganda's Best Car Dealership, a recognition that reflects what buyers across the country have said about their experience with us.
Recognised by Independent Bodies — Not Self-Awarded
These are external organisations that assessed real business performance, customer outcomes, and operational standards. Each recognition was earned — not applied for with a marketing budget.
Uganda's Best Car Dealership
Recognised five times — a reflection of what buyers across the country have said about us.
NCBA Top Used Car Dealer
NCBA Affiliate recognition for dealer performance and customer financing outcomes.
KNCCI Excellence Recognition
Uganda National Chamber of Commerce & Industry — awarded for outstanding business standards.
IAUC International Certification
International Automobile Used Car certification — awarded January 2026 for trade integrity.
Our Process
The Inspection Is Not a Checkbox
Every vehicle goes through a multi-point inspection before it is listed. That means the car on our website reflects the actual car you will receive. The mileage, the condition, the grade from the original auction sheet — all documented and available to you before you decide anything.
Selected from verified Japanese auction houses with full inspection reports attached.
Condition confirmed before the vehicle leaves Japan. No surprises on arrival.
Handled end-to-end by our team. Duties disclosed upfront — no hidden charges.
Full registration handled so the vehicle is road-legal at the point of handover.
Logbook, import receipt, and inspection records handed to you at delivery.

Pricing That Is Clear From the Start
Pricing at Khushi Motors is transparent. The number you see is the number you pay. We have never built a business model on last-minute additions or confusing charge structures, and we are not going to start now.
If you want to know exactly what a vehicle will cost you — including shipping, import, and any applicable fees — we will give you that figure clearly before you commit to anything.
Documentation Handled End to End
Documentation and paperwork is something buyers often worry about when importing a vehicle. At Khushi Motors, we handle it. End to end.
The export documentation from Japan, the import paperwork for Uganda, the transfer of ownership — all of it is managed by our team so that you receive your vehicle with everything in order and nothing chased.

Things You Are Probably Wondering Before You Decide
These are the questions most buyers have in their head before they take the next step. We know, because we have been having these conversations for 16 years.
How do I know the car is actually in the condition you say it is?
Every vehicle we sell has an independent auction inspection report attached to it. This is a document produced in Japan by a certified inspector who has no financial interest in whether you buy the car or not. It shows the exact grade, maps the body condition panel by panel, records the mileage, and notes anything that was found during inspection. You see this report before you pay anything. The vehicle that arrives carries the same chassis number as the report you reviewed. We have never had a reason to hide what a car actually looks like.
What if the car arrives and it is not what I expected?
The chassis number on the auction sheet is the same number tracked through export, shipping, and delivery. The vehicle that is loaded in Japan is the vehicle that arrives at your port. The inspection documentation you reviewed before purchase reflects that specific car, not a generic description of the model. In 16 years of operations, discrepancies between documented condition and delivered condition are not something we leave unresolved. The paper trail exists precisely for this situation.
I have heard about people paying for cars that never arrived. How is this different?
Khushi Motors has been operating from the same locations in Uganda since 2009. We have physical showrooms in Mombasa and Kisumu. We have won Uganda's Best Car Dealership Award five times. We hold an IAUC International Automobile Certification issued in January 2026. A fraudulent operation does not accumulate 16 years of presence, physical showrooms, and external industry recognition. We are happy to provide company registration documents, bank account details in our registered business name, and references from previous buyers before you send a single shilling.
Are there costs I will find out about only after I have paid?
No. Before you confirm anything, we give you a complete price breakdown that covers the vehicle, shipping, import documentation, and any applicable fees. The figure you agree to is the figure you pay. We do not add charges at the clearance stage or invoice for documentation that was not included in the original quote. Transparent pricing is one of the things we have been specifically recognized for by KNCCI, and it reflects how we have chosen to operate from the beginning.
I need finance. Can I still buy through Khushi Motors?
Yes. We work with Uganda's leading banks to facilitate vehicle financing for qualified buyers. You do not need to have the full purchase amount before speaking to us. Tell us the vehicle you are interested in and your financial situation, and we will walk you through the options available. Finance does not complicate the process. It is just another route to the same destination.
How long will I actually wait for my car once I have paid?
Our shipping schedule is publicly listed on our website. Once a vehicle is confirmed and payment processed, you can see exactly when the next available vessel departs and when it is expected to arrive at your destination port. Typical transit from Japan to Uganda is four to eight weeks depending on the shipping route and port clearance timing. We do not leave you waiting in silence. You receive vessel details, tracking information, and updates at each key stage of the journey. Trade-in is also available if you are replacing an existing vehicle.
